In order to broaden the appeal of the Cassina Collection, Franco Cassina initiated a visionary collaboration between Le Corbusier and Cassina. With its surprising architecture, the M10 armchair hides a conceptual challenge. The seat hanging onto an inverted Y creates a cantilevered effect and a spectacular and delicate balance: a distinctive feature replicated in the P22 armchair. Slender legs in solid ash and a comfortable seat are supported by an inner metal body that serves as the core of the entire structure.

The M10 is a hanging chair that illustrates with elegance the encounter between innovation and tradition. Designed by Patrick Norguet for Cassina, the light and balanced design of the Cassina 397 M10 armchair is seemingly simple and inviting. Suspended on an upside down Y shape, a distinctive sign for Patrick Norguet's work, which follows on from the P22 armchair; the skilful use of wood enhances Cassina's long held heritage in carpentry. The interior details have been hand-crafted in Italy in the traditional way. Frame in aluminium alloy, covered with CFC-free foam with the seat and back upholstered in leather that is removable.
