Stunning Antique Green Studded Leather Office Oak Swivel Chair Captains Desk
Dating to the mid part of the 20th century, circa 1940s, this is an original swivel chair, quite charming on the eye. Hand carved in oak, and complemented with a pinned Green faux leather seat cover. The original pins that secure the seat cover show the superb craftsmanship and then comes the best bit Simply sit on the chair and swivel. The chair is comfortable and the top section of the chair (the Green part) will swivel with a 360 degree rotation. This chair is tension sprung, which means one can lean back and find their perfect posture with a simple twist of the knob on the reverse.
A brilliant piece of engineering and all in all, an elegant piece. Although the chair shows it age in places, the chair retains a good structure being both heavy and strong.
The faux leather material is a little tatty in places yet this is not detrimental to the overall function and appearance of the chair. This is truly elegant in appearance and one you could fall in love with. The brass heels and casters are the perfect complement to the overall design. We are offering this piece in as found condition, therefore there is natural wear and tear.
There are some surface scuffs and abrasions across the leather material and there are some tatty areas in places. It is generally clean and tidy and unscented making this a stand out piece. Underneath is rusty and tatty in areas, yet this does not impact the performance of the chair, just aesthetics. We feel the current condition simply adds to its charm and authenticity.
